Publishing of "Descendants of James Crookston" has been put on hold.

 I have put a hold on the Descendants of James Crookston.  Because of some formatting problems and spelling, punctuation, grammar, and OCR introduce errors; I have decided to make some corrections.

Many of the items that I used for information were scanned copies (i.e., newspaper clippings, photocopies of histories) that I use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to help for transferring the information to a digital copy.  The OCR introduces many errors where ‘I’ is interpreted as ‘1’ or ‘m’ as ‘rn’. Other documents I had I to retype, and thus I had introduced some typographical errors or missing words.  Many of the original documents also had errors in them since many were written before there was the ability of spelling and grammar checking.

Roots Magic 8 did not have a spell checker. Root Magic 9, current version, has a spell checker.

Thus, I have printed the entire book in MS Word, and I am using MS Word’s spelling, grammar, and punctuation checker to make corrections.  I have been working on this for a few months.  I have completed the Robert and George Crookston line.  I am on page 138 of 927. I am hoping to finish this by Christmas.

At that time, I will change the edition from ‘First Draft’ to ‘First Edition’.  I hope that I don’t need to make any other changes to the book.
