Afton Mae Rush (1915 – 2000) wife of my 3rd cousin 1 removed...

Mom was always given the paycheck to pay the bills. She was a good money manager, so much so that later in life when Pam and Joann were cleaning the house, they found thousands of dollars that she stuffed away without dad's knowledge.
--------------
One day great grandma Afton decided she needed a new car. She picked out a purple one with a black top, 2 door, 1965 Pontiac GTO, V8, 4 speed
manual on the floor!! She was told that it was a very fast car. that was exactly what she wanted! She was 55 years old and a little feisty.

She would travel each week down the Ashton pass from Macks Inn to St. Anthony to do their laundry It didn't take her long - her tiny size 5 foot was heavy footed - luckily she never got a ticket. But all the men and young people were envious of that car.

The only accident she ever got in was racing up the hill to her cabin, and hit a tree that dented the front of her car because she couldn't stop in time!! Later she got her second GTO, V8, 4 speed, on the floor, gold with a cream top, 2door, Pontiac.
She was sure fun to drive with!
