Woes of a school teacher

At Clarkston School, for Social Studies we had a big Korean map wall and daily talked about where our armed forces were located, and what was happening. The United States Military only went so far North and then President Harry Truman told them to stop. Two of my eighth-grade boys had heard on the radio that our armed forces were doing the wrong things, when they stopped, and they agreed. They then, went so far, as to write a critical letter to the United States President and threaten him. My trouble was, I found out later after I'd had a visit from a Secret Service man accompanied by a member of the Sheriff's department that they had signed my name. I had just left for a meeting in the District Office when the two law enforcement men knocked at our door and wanted to see me. They waited for me until I got home. Dona was almost convinced that I was involved with that letter. When I finally got home, I convinced them it wasn't my writing and recognized the signature of one eighth grade boy.
